TRANSMUCOSAL

Transmucosal permeation is often favoured when it is necessary to circumvent the first pass hepatic effect.

Transmucosal permeation studies make it possible to test the speedy absorption of active ingredients, indispensable for this delivery method.

Biogalenys carries out nasal and oral absorption studies with equipment that is adapted to membrane physiology and its natural functioning.

These studies are carried out either using Ussing chambers or in Franz cell membranes, and make it possible to:

  • Test the permeability and capacity of mucosal membranes to create rapid absorption using the different methods.
  • Determine the influence of excipients and their composition on permeation.
  • Develop galenic preparations (gels, solutions, emulsions, sprays).
